Flicker

Postby Illusion » Thu Feb 23, 2012 5:28 pm

For those of you who went with the extended main and longer boom; did you have to add a flicker on top of the mast, so the main didn't catch on the backstay when tacking? My rigger is telling me a flicker works on a fractional, but not a masthead, especially with our cascading backstay.

Any info is appreciated, thanks,
Dave

I've not done it. But I think the problem is getting enough slack in the back stay for the flicker to work.
Anybody else?
