I own a 1978 Evelyn 36, I have been told that Bob Evelyn won the 1977 offshore circuit overall champion on a 36 named Formula I, I have been trying to find out all I can about this design. Legacy sails down wind like a dream and keeps up with the fierest competition but to weather she is very difficult to point. I have been told there were only five ever built.....Any one with knowledge of the Evelyn 36 please share.

There's a 36 in Narragansett Bay that was at one time named "Overdraft." A couple years ago it broke loose from its mooring and fetched up on the west side of the bay near Fox Island. There was some gelcoat damage and a bent keel but didn't look like it suffered any structural damage. I spoke to the owner and he said that as part of the repair work he was going to replace the keel with a winged keel that would draw less water. I think "Overdraft" was acquired by a new owner at auction for its storage bill and has been renamed. It is still in the Narragansett-Buzzards Bay area.
