Insurance

Postby Motorboat!! » Mon Jun 06, 2011 3:45 pm

So I am shopping aroung my current insurance, and am curious what other people are using? The 32 isn't exactly a luxury boat, and I don't want to have to pay as such. Trying to get insurance quotes from people who are not sailors is like trying to herd cats. Any advice out there?

Boat US.

They will require a survey but they are by far the very best. They understand sailing. Last year on the E-42, PteroD, we had a mechanical failure of the tack shackle on our #2. We were under load to weather and it blew the sail completely apart. We had a brand new sail in 6 weeks. We sorely needed a new #2 anyway. What luck. Don't abuse it or scam it and they come through. Other skippers in our neighborhood with losses, usually impacts or groundings, swear by them.
