Has everyone seen the article about KWRW in this month's "Sailing World?" There is a nice section on "Bluto." I loved the statement from Ben about "Everywhere you drill, water squirts out. Hopefully I've eliminated most of the water in "Dark Star."

You have an Airex hull core. Can you image being a C&C boat with balsa core where the hull is as wet as the deck! Ouch! My boat would have sunk by now. As it is my hull is dry, even where a repair in bow was done, what water got in was isolated and extracted simply enough.

We are packing for Charleston, wish us luck!

I had the same thing (squirting water) from mine when I did some recoring.
Good luck in Chaeleston Jim. Man I wish I could go. Maybe next year. someone should find my old boat and get him to go. its supposed to be in SC somewhere, but I have not heard word one about it since the day it left.

Uh-oh, sounds like the previous owner didn't do a very good job of keeping "Bluto" dry. Someone ought to "out" that idiot, if Sailing World hasn't already (haven't seen the issue yet).
