Hi Forum users, I rote about getting an Evelyn 42 this summer. Well things got put on hold for a while, I ended up in the hospital the week that I was supposed to make the deal with the owner. Gall stones can really make you sick. I haven't given up on the boat, so I was wondering if it's possible to put the boat on a roller type trailer. Right now she's sitting maby a foot off the ground on what looks like a homemade wooden cradle. There is no keel with the boat and the rudder is there, but not attached. If anyone has any ideas please let me know. Thanks firstamos

You can use a 40' shipping container chassis for what you are describing. use whatever bunks or supports are on the cradle and mout it on the trailer. i saw it done once with a J/30. they actually had the keel on and just put it between the frame rails. No keel makes it even easier. you can pickup chassis for between 2500 -4500 depending on where you are in the country.

good luck,

Mike

The big problem with putting an E42 on a trailer is the need to remove the keel. The maximum height allowed on the highway is something like 13'-6" give or take a couple inches. The E32-2 just makes it.
