Yes it is dry sailed, I built a killer single point lift system.

The hatch was super easy. I just prepped the hatch for painting. Maybe it was easy casue the whole boat was being painted anyway. I painted the perimeter and center white with 4 coats of Brightsides white. After it was dry I just free handed some 1 inch tape over the center section for the logo and painted the non skid. The 42 was done the same way.

The hard part was making a single latch system for the hatch board and hatch that can be undone from both above deck and from down below. I'll take some pic to share, it is real slick.

This is the one I have:
4-Stroke Auxiliary Outboard Bracket

I'd love to have this outboard bracket:

Both work just fine. I keep folks off the bow at the dock with it running, otherwise it runs dry. The upswell running makes it almost too deep though. I can give you monting postion if want. I also can get a discount on either.

I would love to get one just like yours. Mine is a little undersized, and I need to beef it up with something like that. Also, I want to get a second "delivery" motor to go along with my 6hp. Something like a 9.9. If you could give me the mounting position, that would also be great. Is the one you currently have the 12" travel?
I love discounts...I'll even buy a used one if there is ever one available.

What speed do you cruise at with your 6hp. I was thinking of another outboard too, I have a 6, but I was thinking small for race days?

On a calm day, we will top out at about 6 kts. I like to back it off a little though, and cruise at 5-5.5 kts. I really am happy with my 6 hp. It's a tohatsu 25" shaft 4 stroke. We are doing a coastal race this weekend on the gulf coast, and I will be motor sailing it back almost 200 miles. It's times like these I would like a 9.9 hp.

As far as I am concerned, the deeper the shaft/prop, the better, especially in a chop. The ideal situation, although probably not feasible on an E-32, would be a outboard well, like the hobie 33s and melges 32s have. But I don't think the Evelyn is really set up for something like that.

Two of us in CT have installed the Saildrive 330. It was the best investment I have made for the boat. I had a Mercury 5hp long shaft outboard. It has the internal tank and external. This was nice for racing since I would always have to bring the 6 gallon external tank. It is an extremely light outboard compared to others I have seen and pushed me a little over 6 knots in a moderate chop. My biggest issue is that I do a lot of the deliveries solo and I couldn't keep the motor in the water if there was a decent size swell. There were too many cases where I had to turn around because the motor wouldn't stay in the water. I installed the saildrive prior to the 08 season. I cruise at 7 knots at less than 3/4 throttle. It holds a pretty steady speed even in a swell.

You bet! Olson 29 Riddler & Donovan 27 going to be real tough.

Remedy, Donovan 27, took first. First, Second and Third all had 25 points. Talk about tight racing. It was tight all week. Most finishers were with in 2-3 minutes.

Screwpile is TOUGH!

You better bring your A-game if you want to stand on the podium Tuesday afternoon. Cripes, even PHRF C/D was massively competitive...and last year we got our butts handed to us in (shudder)...NON-SPINN. Huge apologies for not bumping into you, Ptero...we had big boatspeed issues all 3 days and spent a lot of evening time tweaking hardware, etc.

It was still a great time...I don't know what it is about Solomons, but I just love the place....and even the breeze was cooperative this year. Three races on Tuesday!!! Whodda thunk it?

We figure we were about 35 seconds a race from the podium not even counting the one bump and the 720 we took when I pooched Remedy on a leeward mark rounding.

Remedy took the Overall 2009 Winner as well. So it looks like our class was the most competitive at the event.
