Where are the Evelyn 32's going to show up this year. It wold be really great if we can get some together. Pipe in with you list for 2010 and lets see if we can't get something going.

Pterobyte is looking at these for the multi day events:
Charleston SC
Southern Bay Race Week Hampton VA
Screwpile Solomons MD
Leukemia Cup Deltaville VA
Stingray Point Deltaville VA

Get your list in early, maybe one or more of would travel to where YOU are.

In 2011 we are looking at Block Island

It would be really great if the 2 boats from Pensacola Fl made it over to New Orleans for Mardi Gras to match up with the 2 boats we already have here. We gotta give the Hobie 33's a run for their money. They already have a OD class event set up down here, and I can't let them go thinking they are better than we are.

Hmmmm... 1000 miles from here. Not much more then Tampa from here. February??

You work on the two in FL and I'll work on my crew and see what they think.

Any 3 ton club hoists I can use?

We have a 3 toner at Southern. They use it for the Melges 32s. Man, I gotta get me a trailer. I would love to come to the east coast some time.

That would be awesome! And not to mention, the namesake (Mardi Gras) of the regatta is about the same time. Who doesn't like a big party?

I meant to put a question mark on that post. I didn't mean to say we had 6 boats. Shoot; just two or three would be great but our own start?? Wow would be great!

Work on the guys in FL. Bluto is trailerd, I don't know if it would be of interest to Hall/Bergess. I think he is doing key west in January. On his way back up ???

Yep, I remember. I just got back from New Orleans where Mary lives now (as a surveyor/inspector for ABS) and spent some time with Matt Skaer (owner of the E32-2 "Motorboat").

We all need to get together or a good one design start one of these days.

I am toying with the idea of taking Pterobyte to NOYC for the Mardi Gras. We might get some boats from FL. The other option to head up to RI. What events up there make sense? I think Block Island is run odd years??

There used to be a Block Island Race Week every year. In alternating years they are run by Storm Trysail Club and Premier-Racing (the people that run Key West Race Week), but it appears that Premier has eliminated Block Island from their calendar. Storm Trysail years are the odd years in June. Probably the best racing in New York Yacht Club Race Week (at Harbor Court in Newport) which is held in the odds years in mid July. The New York Yacht Club annual regatta is every year in late June (I believe).

It I could find a trailer I'd love to join everyone in NOLA for the Mardi Gras Regatta. The other races on my list to do with "Dark Star" sometime before my career is over would be Screwpile and Port Huron-Mac. I think the E32-2 would be a great boat for a light air Mac.

Correction -- NYYC Race Week is held in the even numbered years in mid July. I probably should be posting this its proper location in this forum.

Screwpile is in my neighborhood. New York is easier for me then NOYC. I think we just gotta find a spot and promote the hell out of it.

KeyWest is too far and expensive for us working chumps.
    Miami went Grand Prix.
    Charleston??
Hampton race week would mean boats don't have to go up the bay to get to MD.

PS: I'll move these post to the Event section.... Maybe I need to make a Caz section too??

My vote is for Charleston! All I need is a trailer.
David, glad you got to come over Sunday for the crab boil. Sorry we didn't get to go sailing or work on the boat. I did manage to get my new backstay setup installed today, and soon I will get the windows put on. Next time you are here, maybe it will be crawfish season (sailing also).
As for Mardi Gras, in addition to us, there is another Evelyn here (pheadra) as well as the 2 boats in Pensacola (about 200 miles east of NOLA), one of which is on a trailer.

Well, as of recently, there are now TWO evelyns signed up for Charleston Race Week, Ptero and Bluto. Historically, the PHRF splits have been pretty wide at CRW (or, at least they were when we were there a few years ago) so there's a good chance they'll be in the same fleet. There's also an Olson 30 signed up, which should be a fun boat for the E 32-2 s to race.

Some you others oughta think about going...Charleston Race Weekend is a blast.

Book a house for a week and enjoy the area, great town, amazing food, and for your young and single crew, an extremely high ratio of attractive young women in Charleston (sort of scary, in fact...maybe they clone them there, I have no idea).

Great escape in early April!
